2016.... Tracking Challenge( hours -ridden/inhand) add your photos as well

A quiet weekend for me. Bug's owner decided she would take him on a XC clinic on Saturday with the same instructor as I had for my rising camp. I went along as chief groom and photographer. The weather was a bit damp, but she had a fun time.

I didn't want to work Bug too hard on Sunday so just a quick trip around the lanes.

I'm off to view 2 horses on Tuesday so maybe I'll have some good news to report next week :)

Probably the last post as I am bored of doing this now.
It's almost two weeks of the new fat to fit cob and I will be weighing on Sunday to see if anything I have tweaked, has tweaked her weight.

Well I've started the year so I'll finish!

On Tuesday I went to try a couple of horses (more on this soon). On Saturday I went for a little hack - one of the house along the way has a new sculpture in the garden. The picture below doesn't do it justice. Bug was totally uninterested which was in direct contrast to the penguin sculpture the same house had last Christmas - he had a dicky fit over that.

I'd planned to ride on Sunday, but my horse owners dog went missing so we spent several hours looking for her eventually finding her stuck down a hole

Rode an hr yesterday.
It was gloomy and threatening rain and I wanted to graze Andi as well so I stopped at an hr.
It was fun I stayed on my property. We brought over the cavaletti from the round pen here
and I set those up on the house side of the blueberry patch and they are not in the way or in a spot with really nice lush grass so they can stay there.
I did try to trot serpentine on the trees on the side of property away from the grassy field but
Sonny was full of himself so we walked instead.
Its nice to have 2 spots of cavaletti now but I scoped out another couple places
to add more - we have to get some of the longer poles over from here -- we are getting my fun stuff over a little at a time!

I am riding with the Virginia the barn owner Sat am- She is going to show me how to get to the house down the road where the trail ride is starting from on
Sunday -- I guess we can go thru the woods/trails behind her to their place .

I am really looking fwd to learning more trails etc.

The turkeys must do a round robbin My husband called me to say come out back the turkeys are here so i watched them go down side of our property and fly over gate and wall into VIRGINA'S place across the street.

Then when i was riding Sonny we were coming across the front yard towards the driveway and he stopps dead in his tracks --what's up with him??? is Andi loose or something:eek::eek:
Well I knew he was not bothered by the couple banner flags out at end of the driveway but then I looked and turkeys had come back around and back into our property near the blueberry patch.
So we watched and followed them and they went back up into my grassy field and then off into the woods back there:D.

I have not seen the deer around yet but I know they are there!:)

Rode another 1.5 hrs
Started out with the barn owner she was going to show me how to go thru the woods to the
house where the trail ride will be starting from.
Due to unforeseen things she had to cut her ride short so I rode some of her trails
and did cavaletti and rode my property
Woo hoo saw 2 horses on the road and called but they did not hear me
got to road and they were from the farm hosting the trail ride and were putting out markers
I was going to tag along with them but it was getting late and I had alwready ridden 1.5 hrs
they were going to end up back at their place and it would leave me coming back alone
in the woods back to Virginias place as it was getting dusky out and I was not comfortable with that being in unfamiliar woods around dusk.

Virgina took me in her car after so show me where/how to go to get there
OMG are there lots of trails out there woo hoo.

I added deco to my old hay rake yesterday lol I am on
sonny but hes eating grass so you cant see HIM.
hmm photos are not working for some reason will have to try later

Its ride day woo hoo
The weather will be NICE

I set up another line of cavaletti yesteday with the banner flags on it.
I am trying to tuck them into places that I wont mess up nice grass or interfere
with having drive areas nice and clear and open.
I think 3 of us are riding from Virgina's barn> I will meet the ohter 2 women this am.
I got a really cool halloween obstacle to play with yesterday.
Its a motion activated spider about the size of a good size cat. It jumps up on and arm and
makes creepy noises at you.
It's a shame we dont get trick or treaters there it would be awesome to have out on door step-- I think thats what its kind of designed for.

Awesome awesome ride almost 5hrs.
It was sooooooooo nice to go to an event and not have to put a foot in the trailer.
3 of us rode out from
Virginia's the women were really nice and they both have mares lol Andi will be mad Sonny went riding with 2 MARES lol The horses got along super. One person at the ride had gone there alone and she Joined in with us she has a lovely white Passo Fino and all 4 horses got on
famously you would think they had all been riding together for years!!
It was a great ride I was really tired at the end but it was great !!!
There is a lovely covered bridge out there THAT WAS FUN!!

Someone has mentioned Halloween to mine as we spent most of the ride looking for ghosts!
Anyway had to coax her by a blue truck. A man was training his gun dogs and she hates the truck, it's one of two she hates.
Once you get near it, the smell, urgh, it's vile. Any country people will know the smell I mean and she can't stand it.

I think I know the smell. Yes it's horrid.

Sonny shined yesterday there was one nasty water crossing where it was really mucky and deep muck on each side the other 3 horses balked at first Sonny went right thru. I WAS ONLY WORRIED his boots would get sucked off. Well it's a shame I did not get photos there cause my easy boot trails and Maureen horses Cavallo stayed on with flying colors. It would have been a good testimonial.

@newforest we had issues with a food recycling bucket yesterday. Dunno if they have them in your neck of the woods but here they are small black buckets. Like wastepaper bucket sized. It was just sitting quietly at the side of the pavement opposite us but required eyes on stalks, walking on tiptoes and ridged back!

You have food recycling buckets that get put out with trash day over there????????
I have never seen that over here.
We have 2 rolling carts one for bagged trash/garbage and one for all the loose recyclables
paper / cardboard / cans /bottles etc that don"t go back to stores to get your 5 cents back.

It seems to me a bucket of "food scraps" etc would be a haven for an influx of raccoons
or other animals to try to get into them.?????????:(:(:mad::mad:
Do you have any problems like that over there?
.
Lol that is ONE obstacle I am glad I DON'T have over here.
(i imagine they can get pretty smelly ugh)

There is a trash dump sorting facility ugh -- a really really big building that garbage trucks
come dump their loads/ -- its right next to a major truck dealer that my husband gets truck parts from.

The smell of the place is totally gross.

We have recycling days. Bins that are for garden waste, bottles, paper. Sometimes it's like riding past a line up of green darleks if it's flats! The boxes are a menace as they blow around if it's windy and the contents are everywhere, that's everyweek here then.

Not seen actual food waste outside, apart from the normal black sacks.
I don't think a waste paper size bucket would be big enough over here, they did expect everyone to do a compost with it. Some havent got enough garden for all these bins!

Our recycling bins are not for garden waste just clean paper cans bottles etc.
The bins are same size as the trash bins just a different color lid and both go out on the same day next to each other.
They are a good size but in bad winds can blow over .

Sorry you have not been feeling well.:(

I hope it passes soon for you to get back to great riding.:D:D

I added some cabbage/kale near some of my cavaletti but I need to get one more.
I put wire ties to secure the banner flags to the cavaletti so they don't fall over in the wind.
So far so good!! I was windy there yesterday and they did not blow over;)

When I go in and out of town woo hoo I get this lovely view over the little narrow bridge:D;)
