2016.... Tracking Challenge( hours -ridden/inhand) add your photos as well

Another AWESOME RIDE! 1.5 HRS
LOL I do need to get very comfortable riding out in the open when its really windy.
I will get there. LOL seems Im going to get A LOT OF PRACTICE.

It was very windy yesterday the banner flags on the cavaletti were really nicely
flapping around :D.

I moved my horse skelteton to near the grapes since the goats fencing is going thryu the
area he was standing in.
Woo hoo we may be set to get the goats over tonite!!!
If its not tonite its not going to be til sat late aftenoon cause we are going to get some heavy rains coming in Fri into Sat.

I got some local hay yesterday and Sonny sampled it when I was riding and liked it and
it does not have clover or alfalfa so its perfect for the goats and its nice and clean.

You cant easily tell from photo but banners are really blowing on the cav
I donn't mind going over cav with flags blowing in the wind but I am a little uncomfortable
still in the wide open field- but i will get used to it Sonny is fine its me.

The goats will have a chain link "nite area" inside their larger area.
With so many wild turkeys around - maybe the predictors are not too bad but better to be
really safe with them and not chance it.

I sooooooooooo love this place!!;);):):):D:D:D

I am finding things I need to do around here and there

IMG_1067.JPG
Sonny ties nicely here to tack up but i need a bench out there to put my boots and 1/2 chaps on
plus I let can let him just loose to graze on the left behind the house and I COULD SIT and relax and watch him there -- I WON'T TRY THAT WITH ANDI THOUGH.
I'd find her chatting up some boy.:rolleyes:
She will be in a contained area even if I'm out and about.

It was in 80's yesterday so I hosed him off after I rode and let him graze and ran into the
house for a second and THIS IS JUST THE VIEW I WANT;);)
He is such a good boy He is not tied but Hes not gong anywhere!!

20161019_161255-1.jpg
I would not go far with him loose like that--- I could see him the whole time.;)

Looks like things are going well at the new place @horseandgoatmom.

Recycling wise we have one bin for tins/cans/paper etc, a small bin for landfill and the food bin. Food is better in the food bin as foxes can't get into it. They tare into the black bags but we don't have those anymore here, everything goes into wheelie bins. I'll try to get some photos for you :)

Loving the updates and pics of your new place @horseandgoatmom :D I couldn't leave my boy out loose like that as he is always into everything and lifts things up and carries them away..The only time he will stand untied and well behaved is if he has his tack on but once it is off he is of investigating :D

I was wanting to take my boy jj to a inhand show but I can't find anywere that does inhand shows can u help me find them
He's a 15hh heavy weight 10 year old cob

Woo Hoo we got the goats over on Sunday so we are officially HERE;);););)
We are still adding more fencing for them and have to wire over
the top of the small ones night area because we were told fisher cats can jump that 6 ft chain link fence:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Once we get them set -we can start on the horses areas-but since they are happy across the street its not a mad rush to get something done half-a..... We can get the stalls etc planned out/done nicely.
It feels soooooooooooooooooooooooooo good to look out the kitchen window and see my kids.;)
I forgot the pin to get my photo chip out of the phone so I will take some with the normal camera today.

I rode for an hr yesterday but it was soooooooo windy. Sunday had horrible wind as well. I will certainly get comfortable riding in the wind!!
I had set up another block of cavaletti and rode that as well as the tire wall step thru we had brought over.
I am hoping to get over the long poles and my gigantic old tractor tires in the next couple of days
I found a nice spot I can put out my wagon wheel obstacle;)
but I don't have the long poles here yet:(
I let Sonny loose out in back yard again before and after I rode and even in the gusty bad winds he did not bat an eye he just kept eating the yummy grass.
Its really really nice to have grass.
This weekend a bunch of people are walking out with the head of the land trust for him to ok where we can cut and widen trails out there. Sonny is fine on narrow trails but I am on board to
go with the flow.
With Halloween being so close now and hmmm it being so windy a lot I'm not sure if I'm going to try to put out any of my
Halloween blow ups or any more outdoor hallloween decorations., I will see how my blow up turkey faires in the wind and my xmas blow ups etc.

"DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD"
Ugh I cant seem to keep her standing so I think for now she can stay a dead witch.
I did get some awesome different looking pumpin/squash and they worked good to put next to the mums in front of the house to keep them from blowing over.
I am sure in time I will figure out what/how to deal with the wind when decorating outside;)

Its soooooooo nice to be in PARADISE;););););):):):):D:D:D:D:D:D
(even if it is quite windy)

I haven't updated for a while but we have been just ticking along nicely. The weather hasn't been to bad for this time of the year. Marley was a bit nappy this morning, he can get like that sometimes, he is such a character and he does have a strong opinion sometimes, he just kept wanting to stop at the gate that goes into the yard/stables, so I had to work on that today to get him to trot past nicely without stopping or leaning towards the gate..we have also been working on his walk to canter, although it is more me than him, I used to be able to do it all the time but I realised since my hip was playing up I had really got out of doing it, so we have been practicing it going up hill as its easier to get him on his haunches but I will have to stop throwing my reins away grrrr

Total ridden 140 hrs 15 mins
Total in hand 41hrs 30mins

Its still a work in progress but here is out my back door this am.
Its getting there. Danni is looking at me lol.

The xtra dog run fencing is blocking my view of the babies :(
Before we can let them into their bigger area the panel fencing needs to have the wire put on it -they would go right thru those panels.
Not sure how we will use the xtra run yet.

Thank goodness for fence panels!!
My husband changed up the larger goats area to come closer to the house yesterday and will do the same for the babies as well but it started to pour-- better than Snow:eek::eek: there was a
snow/ mix line not hugely far away :( and my best friend called form New York State and she was getting snow and not thrilled.
Hopefully today we are going to fence off the area in the middle in the picture in the other post(where the chair and clump of birch and bush are)
and we will put a table in that center area woo hoo it will be super place to sit !!!
This place truly is PARADISE!
Hopefully in the next day or 2 the weather will cooperate to ride and play with my wagon spoke obstacle ;).
At the old house there really was not a good spot to put it out.
Now I have a "Perfect":):) place:D:D:D.
We brought over a couple of my big antique tractor tires I walk thru as well. If the winter weather seems its going to start early
we need to focus a bit on getting the balance of my obstacle play stuff over before we it would have to wait til spring.:(
But I have a good start on my obstacles/ play stuff;):D
IMG_1226.JPG

Here is the new configuration (at the moment)

IMG_1248.JPG
I had wanted to ride but its still threatening rain and
very very windy again.
We need to get one of the old patio tables over for in the area near the birches.
A nice new one would be nice but at this time of year that is not going to happen.:( There are none to be had:mad:.
I will be happy with any table to hang out and enjoy my kids!
I really am so happy with here - there is still a long way to go setting things up for goats and then the horses etc but
there are so many things here I have waited for so so so long- that were never going to be possible at the old place.
Looking out and seeing my animals is such a dream come true!;);):):):D:D

I like the wheel, I do that sometimes. We have more poles now.

Still riding in t shirt! But now when temp drops it does :) Managed until November though I reckon. :)

We are up and down on temps now yesterday was a bit warmish in the sun.
I did not get to ride - we added more panels to the goats areas and configured the small area with trees to eat and woo hoo we had a late lunch there;). THEN no sooner started to put the wire on the babies area and it started to POUR BUCKETS
So then we went to find a Kmart in the area. Woo hoo there is a gigantic one in Webster;)

I want to ride my wagon wheel in the next day or so:)

Now the kids can come closer to the house;)
When the wire is on the panel fencing the babies will be able to come closer too:D

I went and picked up some items at the other house early early
Guess it was not the train at the old house waking me up since I'm still up at 3am:(
So I went right over and got some things.
Woo hoo got my nice horse lamp but could not get the matching floor lamp it was too heavy and bulky to get alone
IMG_1297.JPG IMG_1349.JPG

It was sooooooooooo nice to sit and eat amongst my "kids";):):D

A good weekend for me. On Saturday I rode Harvey in the school again. He was much calmer this time and I managed to get a much more relaxed trot and canter (rather than last week's scuttle and gallop!) So in the afternoon I donned my Hi viz and we set off for our first hack together. It was a bit of a mixture really - at times he was striding out confidently, and at other times a bit spooky and worried with frequent stops. We got round 3 miles though and encountered cars, chickens, geese, horses and dogs. I was very proud of him :)

On Sunday I went over to drive Monty and then my (ex) share horse owner came over to meet Harvey and I rode him in the school again.

Rode Sonny an hr yesterday It was awesome except for the part where he exploded into a rodeo horse after a block of cavaletti.:eek:
He got quite full of himself a couple of times.
I used to let him blow it out on the hill area at the old place
I am not set up here to do that loose so I may freelonge him in Virginias big ring to let him blow it out a bit I there.
I do kind of need a rd pen over here for some freelonge work.
Maybe my husband can make it a priorty to get the one over from the old place soon.

It was really fun to have great places for the wagon wheel obstacle etc and the blocks of cavaletti to easily go from area to area;)

After riding I did some thing different I put Sonny in with Kinley and Danni - the horses and goats have always been separate.
They were fine and the goats large paddock will also be able to to double with Sonny when they are finally over here.

I need to do the same thing with And to see if she will play nice:rolleyes:.
We also got the wire done on the babies area and for the first time tired the babies and the big goats together that also went nicely;).

I sooooooooooooo love this place.:D:D:D:):)
