Ugh went to do video the patterns yesterday what a disaster. :(

It was hot I was full of bug spray cause it was getting later in the day.
Ugh It was sweating into my eyes and generally not fun.

Sonny did not want to sidepass or back nicely i had been playing with the turtle dry
the wood chips I had to cushon the bottom were floating and he did not want to step in it I made a tarp one that was fine.
He did not want to cooperate for the clothes line gate. The teeter totter bridge was good... finally something... and the carry water bucket was ok.

I need to ride more I had not ridden since last video and NO SONNY YOUR NOT
RETIRED...

I gave up on trying for the videos yesterday had e myhusband take a few photos
then did a bit more play after the clothes line got better.
I did get a foot in the turtle backing was muc better but sidepass still was horrid.
I have a few more days to video and today will be even worse heat and humidity wise.
I will just try for a little riding tonite.

The only kind of funny thing over all was when I went out to fill the turtle then figured out on the ground sonny was not going to cooperate
and i had to make the tarp water. The wild turkeys were just a few feet away in one of the big round pens
paying no attention to me dragging the turtle playing with hoses
then flapping tarp to set up that water obstacle. LOL they are pretty comfortable around here lol.
Hunting season for them starts in a couple of weeks I hope they continue to
I'd pay to watch you getting all this stuff ready lol. Wonder what an alien would think if he saw you? Ooh next planet along I think, this lot are weird! :p

The weather was really nice on Saturday so we had a longer hack with a fellow livery.

I have rescued my jump stands from storage and taken them to the stables. They were pounced on by the other liveries (with permission!) and a course quickly appeared so on Sunday Harvey and I had a play :)

This is the course, but the double was a bit smaller when I jumped it

Had a really nice relaxed ride last nite even though the videoing did not go that well.
I just moved on from things I had problems with.
Sidepass is still not good :(
It was windy but humidity had gone down and heat was a bit better too.
I felt really motivated after.
Mosquitoes are still a big worry and over the last couple weeks more people have become infected and a few more have died.
I take all the precautions I can but its still a big worry.
I still have to try to video the in hand. Its supposed to be decent tonite
so hopefully I can do some more riding and tape the in hand.

Now silly boy is walking nicely thru the turtle.
I had done the clothes line gate decently the other day sigh not yesterday.
It was windy hes not spooky over the hanging clothes but it just did not go well.

It happens
The little narrow bridge is also fun looking back I probably should have taped the
riding challenges using both bridges using my taller one and the really narrow one
for the two instead of the taller one for both.

Not sure why some photos got so washed out maybe it was the intense sun and the reflection of the sand..

A nice late afternoon ride I REALLY need to get full swing into the RIDING mode...
It was low key NO obstacles play other than sending the ball all around.
He gives a pretty good kick and sends it a good distance but thankfully its not really sloped to take off down a hill.
It was fun and relaxing.

Today will be rain early afternoon but we need it.

If long term weather holds towards next weekend we may get some quite cool temps Next Thursday on and lows to give a good freeze with highs just low 60,s
I will be soooo happy for that to help stop the EEE problem
Ma had another person confirmed to get it yesterday making it 11 now and yesterday again a 4th person has died there. Nothing new here in RI for the last few days.. but that does not make it any less of a worry.

The 2 potential deadly diseases here are EEE Eastern Equine Encphalitis
and WNV West Nile Virus.

Both picked up by mosquitoes from infected birds.
Both
have vaccines for horses there are no vaccines for humans
Nither has any treatment other than supportive care for humans or horses.

EEE is more deadly with almost total mortality in horses and 40 to 50% in humans.
It comes in spurts of low incidence in some years and quite bad in others.
Neither are something you want to get.
Its very worrying overall.

ON a GOOD NOTE ;) ;) I JUST RODE by myself thats been a long time...
As soon as i got him out of the big rd pen from grazing I WENT FOR IT:p

I was not going to be silly but the confidence issues are MINE not his...

I had a wonderful ride did some cavaletti and serpentines and used the cut flat tire thing as a go to hang out spot.
I don't know what they are called i can't remember but usually its a pole box to go stand in and its really for the horses... BUT THERE IS NO REASON
IT CANT BE MY GO TO PLACE WITH HIM. to keep my confidence up.
I saw a walker on the rode we spoke a few moments which also helped to reset
keep my confidence before it went astray..

I stopped wanting MORE....
BUT thats how i want to keep it not pushing any particular time frame etc.
AHHH it was AWESOME:):)

Sonny is awesome I'm the one with confidence issues.

Very limited riding this week, the weather's been shocking. Went out Saturday early, and had a lovely one, all round the whole outside of the inclosure - such a good boy. From then on, rain stopped play - not just rain, but RAIN, RAIN, and more RAIN. Finally managed to catch a break today. Hogan was very lazy, didn't want to trot up at all. We had a discussion, he saw my point of view, and we got the trot. On the upside, we passed another rider, and no silliness, then trotting up the lane home, we spooked some ponies hiding in the bracken, and he was a wee gem, not a flicker. Will cross everything for another dry spell tomorrow.Screenshot_20190926-203734_Gallery.jpg

You know when you just aren't "feeling it" when you're about to go out? Well, I should have listened to my gut, and gone home. . Set off in glorious sunshine, heavens opened halfway round. Lazy lazy boy, didn't want to trot, so used the whip (Oh so gently), little beggar bucked. Had a less than amicable chat about it, and the trot finally materialised. 5 minutes later, I have now discovered Hogan's biggest fear - donkeys. But for Pete's sake, they were miles away! Nostrils like dinnerplates, (him, not me) off I get, walking until a suitable log appeared. Pretty much okay, despite wind and rain, and home we go. He's learnt, eventually, to stand while I put the stirrups up, and take the reins over his head. Not today. On high alert, watching for those vicious donkeys. Dancing around, head all over the place. This is why he looked like this when we got in. This pic is also next to "naughty" in the Oxford dictionary.Screenshot_20190927-134404_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20190927-135553_Gallery.jpg

:D Better today! Managed an uphill trot for the first time - he usually acts as though he'll pass away if I try that. Also got past ponies no bother, and no donkeys today - wahey! All in all, a far pleasanter experience - also, the ponies are looking well this year - presume these three have just lost their foals to the pony sales:(Screenshot_20190928-174545_Gallery.jpg

Aw what a shame when the foals go.

My friend went to the sales last week, and saud there were some only 4 months old - don't think I agree with that - it's usually 6 months. They weren't even weaned.

Woo hoo Im on A ROLL :p :p :p
I've ridden every day this week and TWICE YESTERDAY. ( and it was even really windy)

Ive ridden more this week than the last few months.

I feel so motivated.

I did figure out why I'm having so much problems with side pass. I am having a lot of problems putting weight in the stirrup of travel direction and I was trying to
one that was too fast.

I'm just working now one step at a time.

I am trying to mix things up im not playing with all the obstacles all the time.
Yesterday I played with the ball again sending it all around the yard
then back over to the tire where it lives. and had a nice ride up on the grassy hill behind the big rd pens.
Later in he day I had another nice ride and played with the tarp.

It was very windy but I am not setting time frames to ride length wise what ever feels good...
I actually did ride a long time despite the wind:) I DID NOT fixate on it.

Then later I felt like having another ride no pressure no time frame JUST PLEASURE.....;);):):)

I do still miss having the closed neighborhood to ride but I do have more
things in reality here.

Hopefully another nice ride this am who knows maybe 2:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I have a bunch of poles up there that got all shifted to the side when my husband mowed it.
I need to re set them up and make some serpentines with the cones etc.

I am in a much better place confidence wise if I'm actually DOING somehting
I have to think about.
Plus I have all those lovely trees to circle and serpentine too.

I still need another cowboy curtain set set up.

I think the girl I bought Ramsey from bought him at the sales as a goal. To the day he died, he was terrified of men with sticks.
