Stay safe. We know from our travels driving through USA West that American weather is fiercer than what we have here.
Ooh look after you and yoursGeesh they are not getting this right.
A little bit ago a severe thunderstorm alert popped up.
Now a TORNADO alert for the next hour.
Fred wasn't suoppsed to be much of a big deal...
We don't get tornado alerts often..
Thats scary...
Well over hear we call it a hack but western riders over here call it a trail ride.Skib ... I have always thought of hack and trail ride as one in the same.....
Just different names in different countries.
Yes I'm 26. My username is just carried over from other horse forums. Think of it as the 'final canter' in a dressage test. The last big movement. But anywho-That looks a lovely place to hack @Finalcanter. I am jealous. If it is the first ride for ten months I guess you may have been quite tired afterwardds. Your name suggests you are an older rider, but final canter sounds pessimistic.
I dont know the language precisely. The hat and tack suggest you are in USA? I am in the UK and a trail ride for me is a horseback outing for us tourists in the USA. That means it has always followed a set route. In UK, a hack is only ever riding on a horse, riding outside the riding school, and riding anywhere. Usually a hack is on public roads and specified horse tracks. Or on farmers' land where the rider may have paid a fee to ride.
I guess whatI meant was you have to pay the stables to use their horses. I'm in New York. Parks and nature preserves are free to walk and hike in.Where in the USA are you??
I'm in Rhode Island.
The fee up here at parks are nominal..
Mostly a parking fee.
Many are free..
GODDARD PARK
my all time favorite has a huge ring and beach access along with lovely sandy trails.
GREAT BROOK PARK
is nice too with lots of jumps spread around for people that want to jump.
Parks are nice with no atv or dirt bikes and NO HUNTING.
FORESTS are not supposed to have the atv...dirt bikes but they do...ugh
And they all allow hunting.
