Arab bloodlines

I think it is Herefordshire. All the contact details are on the website.
These horses are not cheap, there is one for sale on Arabian lines and he is £6000. I should start saving now!

The website speaks for itself, it shows the horses actually doing something and proving themselves under saddle.

Why don't you treat yourself to a weekend break there - it is a beautiful part of the UK and quintessentially 'English' despite the proximity to the Welsh Border.

no i m sorry.

I have lots of pedigree books:D and I am a bit of a pedigree anorak when it comes to Crabbet and Old English lines. Your mare has some Courthouse blood too so I am very jealous, so jealous in fact that you should send her to me!
Has she bred any foals?

Banshada (Syn Banata ex Caragh)

Syn Banata was a Pure Polish stallion from very good performance lines, Caragh is a mostly Crabbet/ Old English mare with one line of Polish through Grojec.

Lady Natasha (Banat ex Kora) is mostly Polish through Banat and Grojec, with Crabbet added in

So your boy had Banat on both sides of his pedigree.

So basically your Arab was Polish x Crabbet, with more Polish than anything else.
Does that help?
If you want to trace your boy you could try Arabian Lines

Courthouse? Whats that? Sounds rare...lol!

I wish she had bred some foals. i got her when she was 15/16 and didn't find out she was crabbet until last year. I also didn't know i would love her so much. i had her for four years on loan and then last year owner said i could have her (i'd had her longer than the owner anyways). If she was younger and i would have bred from her.

i first believed she was related to Harwood (which is basicly a mile up the road from me) as they have a mare that looks exactly like her!

just out of interest what would he be worth he is about 15hh , grey, soft mouth , good in all ways , no vices, 12 yrs old, done a bit of everything.

How long is a piece of string??
So difficult to say, but I should think around £2000 - £2500, depends if he has a show or other record really. There is a sales section on Arabian Lines that might give you an idea.

Miska - Courthouse is relatively rare, very beautiful old lines, getting rarer by the day. One of my favourite stallions is a Courthouse one called Spearmint, he is gorgeous and a very old man now.

Scroll down and you can see him.

The reason she looks like a Harwood Horse is that they breed Crabbets, so lots of chestnut with white!

You are a fountain of knowledge ambatt! Arabian bloodlines are so interesting! i don't suppose you know what the 'A Kehailel Al Wadnieh Khursanieh' is? I think it is the strain Rabidan comes from....i was told by someone Rabidan was asil. But i'm not sure - can't find anything of him on the internet except for teh allbreedpedigree site.

Kehailan el Wadnan Kurshan is a strain.
The Bedouins of the Arab regions Nejd, Syria, Egypt etc bred horses belonging to different strains or families, usually relating to a specific tribe.

Broadly speaking there are 5 strains that are supposed to date back to the time of the Prophet Mohammed and are called Al Khamsa - the five.
The main strains are:
Kehailan
Seglawi
Abeyan
Handan
Hamdani

there are substrains or types within the main 5, for example a horse can be a Kehailan Rodan, Kehailet el Krush etc. Seglawi can be Seglawi Jidran of Ibn ed Derri etc etc

The strain is always taken from the tail female line of a pedigree, so that is the very bottom line on the pedigree chart traced as far back as it will go.

try this site or I will waffle on for hours!

and here:

'Asil' - simply means purebred
Horses that are not purebred are termed kadish.
