Coffee & Cake Shop Chat

Actually i heard the opposite dogs are being dumped at shelters as people cant afford to feed them. Somewhere i read that shelves are also bare of dog and cat food. So people are stockpiling those too. It very naughty like people who need gluten free etc. Some pets are the same with there specials diets.

Cat food is definitely in short supply in tesco. Lucky for me my local village shop is where I buy the majority of it and they had plenty. I have six and though they are mousers and not house kitties I still have to"pay" them in cat food. :D

Well I'm just popping in whilst I settle my Nescafe gold blend and cheese pannini with olives, baby tomatoes and sardines. (My favourite breakfast). After this I'll check in on work, but it's slowed down somewhat. Then I'm pottering - and cleaning, and I'm thinking of painting the bathroom unit again. Lol everytime I have time on my hands it changes colour!!!

I managed to get some eggs from a friend, so I just had the most delicious fresh, scrambled, bantam eggs on toast because I also managed to get a loaf, yippee!
Now sat with a coffee trying to convince myself to ride, but it's damn windy and chilly out so I'm not really feeling it :p

I am having a boring cuppa soup, chicken, but it's warming me up after our ride. It's windy, but we went anyway.

She's made a start on her double mane, or the wind has. So when it's not all over the place this year she will get her double mane sorted.

I just took floss down in the car to see the lambies. Was on my way back home when someone rings telling me they forgot there key to get into the cows field so i had to divert and go there. I thought id let floss see the cows as we were there. I opened the boot to get the dog out. Talk about enthusiastic, she whipped past my arms as i was going to lift her her out, landed sideways and summersalted over her head onto her back as she lost balance landing. She was a bit dazed poor girl, but at least shes ok. She had a wander round both lots of cows, but i had to retreive her when one of the adults thought she was fair game. She couldnt get out the way fast enough. Im darn cold now due to the biting wind. I was going out with the horses but im not keen now.

Just settling my pilchard in tomato sauce on toast breakfast with coffee. hehehee. Today will be much the same as any other day I think, some pottering on the yard and a good long natter to my mum. :D Windy here so will have to wrap up and go for a walk checking fences later I think. The ground is drying up nicely for now though, it's a good drying wind.

I didn't stop by today as I've been uber busy at the yard, the middle of the track has been divided into 4 for rotational grazing by those that can (Jess and Dan were most upset!), planted the next batch of tatties, caught up on poo picking, rode slow poke :D and picked up some bits from the garden centre to plant some seeds in propogators, not sure how that took me 7 hours in all but it did :p I think I've earned my bourbon and coke and a nice dinner tonight (as yet undecided on what to have, I fancy sausage and mash but can't get bloody veggie sausages)

Wow you were busy! I've just taken delivery of hay - and now have to skip everyone out, turn the ginger man back out and get the girls moving. I will hopefully have earned my dinner - it's Mr t's italian style mince with pasta. And plenty of Fosters lager (who knows how long we will be able to obtain that stuff, it's like rocking horse sh*t up here atm!)

Made a huge mistake this afternoon - chucked out their hay and went for a wander down the back fields to see if the grass is coming through.......they all spotted me and came galloping down bucking and farting - had to grab Coco brown dog and dive under the electric fence bahaha! Dolly's heels just wizzed over the poor dogs bum as i dragged her through with me.:D Had to wait 20 minutes until Mr C came down looking for us and got him to distract them and call them back up to the yard with a bucket! Spring s in the air - didn't mind for myself could have just sidled up the edge of the fields to get back but they will chase the poor dog when they are in this mood and she is already crippled with hip and elbow problems so she really cant twist and turn and run fast enough to get away from them - naughty neddies! :D

Now off for a quick shower and then will try today's day 4 of isolation home cooking (scones and lemon drizzle cake keto style) Crikey after 70 years looks like I am finally turning into a domestic goddess.

You can keep your pilchards for now trewsers. Cant stand them. Ill eat them when i start starving though so watch out then.
Me too bleurghh my mum used to make us have pilchards on toast as kids, I hated them then and still to this day can’t stand the sight or smell of them, the only fish I can’t stand.

Abbey dog wanders round the horses and because shes a scrounge she will try and eat the horse food that drops out there mouths by the food bowls. Shes part deaf as well so she can pootle round the field and Billy will run after her as he thinks she fair game. I have to watch her too much these days so tend to leave her the other side of the tape tied somewhere for safety.
