Coffee & Cake Shop Chat

Just settling my cheese and tuna panini with coffee. Trouble is I could have eaten double! Lol my excuse is the cold weather here today. It's windy and cooold - I need extra layers.................

Afternoon!

A bit late to the party (as always ...!) but hope everyone is well? Or if not 'well' at least getting by ok :)

Well I seem to spend my life on here in between eating lol
Just had a Kenco latte and Kiplings chocolate swirl. In my defence I've just skipped the girls out, given everyone a bowl of Happy Hoof, filled night nets and swapped everyone around for a few hours.

Totally random (but I've said before it's a coffee shop so therefore made for musings). I got a bee in my bonnet about my face powder compact. Couldn't find it so today I went in search into my handbags. Yep found it, along with two others. Yaye. Not having as much work to do has it's upsides. I now have a lot of ironed clothes and face powder I had forgotten about. Hehehee.

Joining you for a sit down. I'm ready for it. Stomped my way (on foot) for 6-7 miles round the small back lanes of west Wales. There were a few cars in the car park at Freshwater East, and dog walkers some distance off . Apart from that I didn't see a single soul. I chose a route off the beaten track on access only lanes where I knew I wouldn't meet anyone. Slightly busier as I came back to town, but social distancing was easily observed, politely done -and offered. It was glorious, with lots of spring flowers, the first butterflies and sounds of birdsong. Now relaxin with my second sup of coffee, and the slightly battered nana and apple I carried en route.

At least I didn't see anyone APART from when I nipped behind a tree for a pee and saw someone in pink through the trees. Sudden panic, only to find no sign when I got back on the road. Must've been on a bike! Typical. Oddly enough it was at a little NT reserve called Scrubby Bottom. 'Tis what we'll all have to do if we run out of TP.......

I'm only just getting going today, coffee and scrambled bantam eggs this morning I think. Its going to be an interesting day, I'm just about to log onto my work computer and see what updates they have for me.

I’m about to give the horses breakfast and muck out. I’ll be back later with my own - coffee, toasted cheese sandwich and mackerel on the side.

Ended up having Mr T's special quarter pounders with onion and cheese and coffee instead of the fish option lol
I was quite productive yesterday. Cleaned two large pictures. Put Hunca Munca back up behind the bed in one of the bedrooms - and cleaned the glass. It's amazing how dirt gathers...................

You know, I was thinking this morning - by the time this is all over, I'm going to struggle to fit work back in lol
I mucked all three out this morning as Zi stayed in due to bad weather. But, Mr T took madam out for walkies whilst I did that but discovered a huge HOLE IN THE GROUND which turns out to be our old septic tank! We both thought it had been covered by contractors two summers ago when we had earth shifted. Something has made it all sink in. It's just pure luck that none of the kitties fell down it - or us come to think of it or the horses (though it is in the back garden and that's out of bounds to them unless they have escaped!) So it's operation fill in. Has a pallet over for now.

Ive got loads of things that i could be doing but dont want to do anything.
My lawns need mowing but we have to be sensible, once the fuel is used up we wont be able to get anymore as we shouldnt be going out. I can see me hand grazing the boys on it. I could put up some tape on the really long bit but i will have to stay with them as there is a 20ft drop near the bit that needs munching, so dont want to make other risks.
Im on rations.

We had a septic tank once and the cat did fall in it whilst it was being um, emptied.
Oh my god, hosepipe job.

I know what you mean about the fuel for the mower. T hasn't done a first cut yet, not quite long enough but he's only got so much in the tank. We are on petrol rations here too - as there's no way we are going into town to the nearest petrol pumps. So we are just literally going out once a week to the local shop to collect our order and coming straight back. Hopefully it will last - not using the truck as that's greedy but the little Ford should be okay.

Jeeps, that could have been a disaster, at least now you know and can get it filled with concrete or something.

Yeah I know it could have been really bad - we both assumed that two summers ago when we asked the contractors to shift some earth that it had dropped down sufficiently and filled it! We were warned about it when we moved in, as it was covered with boards - so obviously it was something we had to get filled. I just can't weigh up how the earth has shifted like that - it's really odd. We've not had heavy vehicles near it either to cause disruption.

Rain I'd bet, a bit like how sink holes form when there's a pocket of less dense soil.
