Hello!

Very happy person here - for a change:rolleyes: Been out riding in the woods!!

No piccys though cos not my horses :( buuut.....had a fabby time! I'll try to make this as clear as possible...my friend A who i met at RDA but has since left has been looking after W's horses while she is away (W is an RI at the RDA). I am off sick today - told work it's my bad belly but actually i'm feeling really down, can't be bothered, no motivation or enthusiasm for work and feel like my depression is coming back - was in bed all yesterday afternoon crying how sad is that?

Anyway, got up this morning, found an email from my mate A saying come for a ride so i did!! I met her at W's house and she stables her horses at the farm next door - how lucky is that? I rode Millie who is a 30year old skewbald mare, cobby type i think with huge feet and my mate rode the slightly younger Ed (about 20years!!) who is a gorgeous chestnut arab. We groomed them, rode them, put them in the field, mucked out, got their tea ready and had a great time!! A has two crazy wonderful Weimeraners who we let run around at the end and eat poo?? didn't know dogs did that:confused: but the cows were amused!!:o

Lifted my blues far far away:D Just had to tell you all :p

Even coming home to a letter from my estate agents saying i've missed a rent payment didn't faze me (i haven't missed a payment - they're just rubbish) and then the builder ringing the buzzer to come and look at my roof cos my bedroom wall is leaking when it rains even though i had to run down in my pyjama's and slippers didn't faze me

I wish everyday could be like this one - i've had a brilliant morning and it's amazing how just being outside on lovely ponies in beautiful autumnal woodland can clear your head;)

Still don't know what to do about work though but i'm having a no-brainer about that (i.e. not thinking about it so there!) and it's not horsey related so shouldn't really discuss here.

But anyway, i'm so happy to discover there are actually some lovely people out there who invite you for pony rides hurrah!!:D Plus, hopefully i'll be able to help out there again soon yippee!!

Glad the ride helped to lift the blues, now bottle that experience in your mind to lift out and focus on at work when you have a spare moment. Close your eyes and picture how good it made you feel, should bring a smile to your face and help you get through the day and everyone will think you are smiling cos you're happy to be there!:D. Also have you considered a SAD lamp? My husband used to suffer terribly with the winter blues, a lamp has made all the difference, but you have to be disciplined and use it. We also increase his physical exercise in the winter as that causes the brain to release endorphins which make you feel good. Certainly better than the chemical options, we've tried the lot!

Hmmm, eau de autumn woods? that's a great thought - just smiling now reading your post! :) Never thought the weather bothered me that much, used to prefer the heat but now i like getting all wrapped up and cosy when it's cold and being outside, but maybe a lamp would help with how i feel. I've tried natural remedies like St Johns Wort but when i had a very bad stresshead episode in 2005 i went onto anti-depressants and was just getting to the point where i was considering weaning myself of them when this almost relapse has hit me:eek: So i'm just taking it one step at a time. My OH and i joined a gym a few months ago and so far have manged to go twice a week (sometimes 3 times if we're good!) but i love my tuesday nights at the stables and wish i had more opportunities - oh if only i didn't have to earn money to live eh! Thanks for replying to my post ;) Gonna go and look up SAD lamps!

Don't look at it as an 'almost relapse', but as you having taken a much needed duvet day! If you frame things in a positive way it helps attract positive things to you. I would ring your friend or text to say how much you really enjoyed today and would like to be first on the list for any future opportunities, but preferably outside works hours. You may be surprised at what opportunities come your way.

sorry if this is being thick but what is a SAD lamp???
I used to suffer terribly with depession - my horses were my remedy :D

seasonal affective disorder

means ** sad when there is no sun!!!!

sad lamps help create suny atmoshperes and release endorphins to make u happy

im one of these odd people that always seem to be cheerful exept if im on my own :)

glad you feel better

duvet days are needed once in a while!

Thanks guys! Had another good day today - went on 2 hour hack in rain then to pub for lunch with OH and friends from RS. Just going to take it steady and not worry about work or make any rash decisions. Feel all warm and cosy now! Duvet days are the best :) xx

ETA: Jane.A i did email my friend and i've already had a reply her with dates for another grooming/riding day in December and again in Feb yay!
