Hellllllpppppppppppppp

oh whatsits

I LOVE the one with bow rather than rosette :o

6 year old, on pretty pony, that would look LUSH

 should I sew up the back ribbon then

see, I am USELESS at this turnout malarky :o

hubby is giving me VERY suspicious looks!

The back ribbon is a hunting thing, as are the others. Basically only hunt servants and land owners should have ribbons down. Don't think that many people know of it to be honest, although I think it creates a smarter profile as you still have the bow, just no flappy bits. The stuff in your pockets and spare gloves I would think unnecessary for leadrein turnout.

Most of them are small things like if your daughter's hair is in a plait, sew the end under with thread, but they're the sort of things that are done at county level. Your hubby ought to carry a cane and I would take the numnah off as it doesn't fit your saddle perfectly.

It depends how far you want to go with it I think. Things like pulling a tail make a big difference, but you'll have to keep on top of it, and with you also having a small girl to get ready to show, you have to consider whether you have the time for all the little bits, as they can end up taking forever!

He might be better suit being a show hunter pony, plain browband and tweed for "serious" classes, and shove the browband and navy on for the novelty stuff. Just comparing him to the chestnut, it looks a bit finer. Never shown anything but a M&M so can't say for certain I'm afraid.

we aren't serious, problem is everyone else is! We don't expect to win, just don't want to disgrace ourselves either

the numnah was what I had in the garage! Better than his purple one :p I found it so shoved it on

we have a cane and bowler too! bowler got left in car by mistake and cane was left on the bonnet of landy by mistake :o

he's not m&m as he is Welsh x Arab so not sure we can show in tweed? MUCH easier!!!!

I can sew in the bow at the back of the hat, that's easy

her hair is normally plaited but i only had one pink bow so I put her hair in hairnet and then put the bow on the back - it was a case of making good with what we had with 48 hours notice

IF we change colours to purple and gold, I have two hair bows in that colour way :D

This is a WHOLE new world for us!

You can do it with a single plait too. If you use two plaits with two bows, sew them in half, and I would put the bows right at the top of the plaits, they aren't as in your face then. :)

Yes tweed is acceptable for hunter ponies, they're shown as plaited and trimmed M&M's basically - plain, workman like tack and turnout. ;)

I am so liking the sound of hunter :D

not sure 6 year old blingy girly girl will agree mind you!

I am so not a girly girl and my child is disney princess barbie pink girly girly girl

She can always change over for the novelty classes. ;)

Of course, a tweed jacket would then be more appropriate for hubby, but you can pick them up in practically every charity shop I've ever been into! :)
