morin all try (ebay) think i seen it there, hope all hoofs are well, bobs had his trim y-day small hooves now
and no boots he walked out great after trim and walk in great last nite. so we will see this morin if all is well with his hooves. went on a hunt last nite for a ash tree richard said its good for them to strip the bark off, but couldnt find any and where i thought there would be i got half way across this field and saw a load of young bulls where i needed to go. ( public foot path) looking at me so turn around and got out of there 
i no they wouldnt have done anything but i wasnt taken any chances hows acorn feet today lin? did you get hold off your farrier. well better go and get the young man his b-fast and hope he hasnt rubbed his tail on the walls.. covered him again last nite in sweet itch lotion that dose work and stop's him. pop back later T xx

Morning all, Good news on the Bobs front hope alls well this morning, am ringing farrier this morning, I am off tomorrow so hopefully I can get him to come then, Acorns managing well as he is on the bute, but hes getting a bit fed up being on his own. have the Grandchildren staying for a couple of days so that should be interesting, both daughters are going away for a couple of days so am on full time horse duty, OH is out of Hospital and convalecing and my cold is still hanging around like a bad smell! ah well thats life.
will have a look and see if I can find what I am on about when I get a minute, sure I have seen on ebay.

morin all. we got bad fog here this morin, anyway hope all hooves are well, lin sorry to hear your cold is still with you, hate that when you just cannot get rid, good to hear acorn is doing ok, and hope you get the farrier out today, with the little man needing that trim. bobs next trim is in 5 weeks 24th june but my little man went out y-day morin without boots. i went back around 2 aclock just to check he was looking abit stiff on fronts but the ground is so hard. very warm y-day so i put his boots on which he was much happier, he came in great last nite but very tired boy
came in eaten his tea and then stood at the back of stable back foot up bottom lip out and head down sleep time. think its was to hot y-day. so just hope hes doing well this morin. richard said hes doing well for this time of year which is good news. well my day today is bobs and then waiting in for gas (lpg) people to give me a quote on a new boiler ... boiler die of death the other nite well cought it as it was on fire at 230 in morin...so ive had no hot water for the last 3 days which is a nitemare. its kettles and pans. for everythin and mother-in-laws for showers which is a drive of 45mins... what fun!!! any way keep and ill pop in later to see how is everyone TTFN

Morning all, great news Tracey, sounds as if his feet have finally turned the corner, good job you caught that Boiler when you did, its awful though having to boil water with pans.
Yes it was red hot here over the weekend, still really hot today here but going to cool down as week goes on. We certainly had a week of extremes last week, from Frost to baking!
Farrier came Saturday afternoon, the ammount trimmed off was amazing, he has brought the toes in again, he walked as though he was on stilts when I put him in , he was a bit better yesterday but the concrete was as if hot coals - gave him 1/2 day out yesterday and then a walk out at night on the grass which he coped with just. Boots on this morning which made him much more comfy and out and up in his paddock for the day to get those legs working - will be a few days I think until his legs have adjusted to walking properly , he was much better this morning in his stable, when I went to get him he went to back and stood on his shavings, as soon as he saw the boots straight over and stood like a little star while I put them on, he knows hes going to be more comfy obviously, they will only fit him for a few weeks but that's long enough to get him back on his feet again hopefully, just hoping they don't grow as quick this time , if they do then I will get him trimmed much earlier which should avoid the strain on his little legs, the abcess hole has just about trimmed out so that should be well sorted next time, farrier was pleased with it and the coronet damage has healed well and good horn growth now, hes taken heels down and toes in , much better shape, he says feet are good now considering and not too much damage from the last lami episode, hopefully he will be able to go upto the others by the end of the week, he don't like being on his own much.

morin all, hope all hooves are well, lin bless him, when there feet are sore they do no the boots help, bobs is the same with his boots, when feet are fine he walks away when trying to put them on but if there sore he will stand very still to put them on, then hes ready to go out. bobs was bit sore y-day so put boots on y-day, but he was fine, bit cooler here y-day for them, and today, more wind so not as hot, i ordered more alfa-bute yday, which i could get it local but there is no where, its the postage costs that the killer, lin you still useing lammi-prone! i swear by the stuff now, i think thats keeping things on an even keel. weight taped him again last nite and hes still the same weight, now for weeks, which is great . well better go and feed him and get him out, pop back later for updates
any ideas on bobs hard neck still ?

Yes still on with the Lammi-prone, Alpha bute and just put him back on rebuild
he went back on a bute a day, but from how he is this morning think that will be going down again now, boots on and out, left him pelting round the paddock so suspect his legs have just about re-adjusted, went to get him in last night and the little **** took off with me, spinning, bucking and rearing,nearly had me on the floor bless him
took him up the road and let him have some verge grazing and hedgerow so he enjoyed that, theres not much at all in his paddock. Will see how he is tonight, if the same then he might get up to the field tomorrow, will turnout with his boots on and see how he gets on...... think if I don't he may break out and go up by himself mood he is in.
Good news on Bobs Weight, Acorns the same , I am like you swear the LP has a lot to do with it.
Weather a lot cooler here today, jacket back on
grey and overcast, hoping we get a bit of rain to soften everything up. Will have to get the magnetic boots back on Tess again,the dry weather is starting to have an effect on her fetlocks again, always the same this time of year, shes moving free enough just starting to click again.....Charlies face is going down nicely now, but hes rubbing it on the ground so having to get miracle cream on to try and stop him having a bald patch - there is always something, Claire has banned Acorn going in with him until he is bootless and Charlies face is normal again, another few days should see that now hopefully - honestly no wonder Acorns nicknamed Thug! buts its not his fault really Charlie needs to learn to be quicker if he going to bite his bumanyway best get some work done, back in later , hope Bobs okay when you went up.

Just a quickie as off to do ponies then work.... (YES gone back to work!!!) BUT GRIM NEWS.... Vicky although very slim came in after her ride last night and stood shifting her weight from foot to foot Signs that I know all too well.....I've had her out (not much grass at all as still on winter pasture) and in at night.... but not happy at all with what I saw... dreading what I will find when I get there in a bit, but a day in I think. I'll update later and have a proper chit chat and fill you in on my little star! Vickys has come on leaps and bounds and really is a sweetie....she makes me smile when she greets me in the morning and adores her little jockey
I still read ALL of your updates daily.... Whats this 'Lamiprone' - fill me in as I think I'll be needing to be getting up to speed again!

Great to hear from you Debbie and that you have sorted Vickys riding out at last, sounds as if she is settling nicely, I do hope its just a bit of fresh grass reaction and nothing more, you really don't deserve another bite at lammi.
Lammiprone is from Global Herbs, I have put all my 3 on it, Acorn has extra than the maintenance dose ,the other two are just on maintenance dose, it seems to help maintain a healthy weight level and is supposed to help with tolerance to grass fructon level fluctuation's, not much to go on with Charlie and Tess other than they are maintaining a nice weight even though on good grass 24/7,although they do go onto a well grazed paddock on a night, after Acorns espisodes we are ultra careful with them. Acorn gets more as obviously he is more susceptable , you can adjust ammount given dependent on grazing conditions etc, I will keep Acorn on it full time the other two will come off it prob October time and then start again in April, although Claire won a big Tub of Xlamaid in a competition so we are going to try that out on Charlie, I daren't change Acorn now I seem to have found something thats working. Tracey is pleased with the Lammi prone as well, I was a bit sceptical cause you are never sure wether things are going to help - but touch wood so far so good.
Hes got his boots on again today, was a bit miserable in his stable bless him but as soon as we got onto the road and he realised where we were going he perked up and was off like a pocket rocket - hes just so pleased to be in the field today, have left Tess in with him for today as he was shaddowing her round the field, desperate for company, Charlie is in a paddock next to them on his own - his face is nearly better but there will be hell to play if he gets another injury - the proof will be tonight when I bring him down to the stable,
if his leg's have coped and if what bit of grass there is has had any effect, I am quite nervous but the benefits of him getting social interaction at this stage are more important and I can always leave him in or in top paddock tomorrow if its been a bit much, I am hoping not cause re really needs to go up there now, just not ready to leave him out overnight as well yet until I am sure hes coping.

Hi tracey, Bobs sounds a bit like Tess, she gets clicky at this time of year as soon as we get a prolonged dry spell, have had the mag boots on her this morning for 20 minutes so that should do the trick, will do it for a week or so and then every other day, normally we do 10 minutes each side of the day but its difficult when I am moving them around etc at night and having ACorn to bring in - will be easier once I feel I can leave him out overnight every other day - fingers crossed hes fine tonight when I go.

Thanks for the info! I've had a good look at the Global herbs website and as soon as the boys are home I'm off to get some as I've checked and local saddlers have in stock - phew....I'll get the Alphbute as well.
Vicky was not weight shifting this morning but is sore on the stony ground (OK on the flat concrete) perfectly sound in the sand school. I've left her in today. I have been keeping an exceptionally keen eye on her as she is so fine. Her crest does harden very quickly if shes had too much grass, but seems to go down equally as quick, so I'm hoping and praying I've caught her in time. She had her feet trimmed last week and does do a lot of roadwork and the field is rock hard and very uneven (she was shod all round when I got her) so wondering if this has anything to do with it.
All I know is, that I certainly don't deserve this after Lucy.... I'll report later on how she is.

Do hope shes okay, have you thought of hoof boots for just after the trim, I am finding that Acorns are a god send for that time after resisting them for over 12 months, Acorn is really sensitive for the first week gradually gets better and then normally he is okay , of course he had lammi, but like you better prevention than the opposite.

morin just put too new pic of bobs hooves in pic's , he is fine today. wanted out, bobs hooves in need of a good conditioning too, with being in boots they go so hard and dirty from the shavinng, pick them out twice a day but in need of good wash, sorry to hear your not to good lin, you need to go home and rest, no news this morin on vicky? do hope she ok, well got men here fitting boiler 3 of them

I really cannot believe the difference in Bobs feet...I looked at the original photos and your new ones and I'm totally amazed....well done Tracy for all of your hard work, care, dedication and love...you deserve a massive pat on the back for getting so far
Vicky has not appreciated being kept in, shes a little whirlwind! Her new muzzle arrived yesterday (I know its silly, but I just couldn't put Lucys on her as it just was too big a reminder of our battle) I've had her on the Lammi prone for 48hrs now and will let her out for 4 hours to day.
Shes still sound and not weight shifting but still has warm hoofs, no pulse and not liking the stoney ground, so hoping that I've caught her. Shes a pickle to keep in as she just eats and eats her straw
I'm dreading it as going away for a few days later and thought it would all be straight forward....

thanks Deb x still got bit to do with bobs hoofs and he still needs at lot taken off toe, but hes getting there and in 12mths hes grown new hoof so this next year without any set back of lammi ? we should a sound hoofs
so glad vicky ok xx it just shows dosent matter how carefull you are and how much you no they can still go down with it or signs off it, one thing i have leant over this last year, the people how make horse feed have a lot to do with this, not putting how much suger they put in feed, we trust them to much. even lammi feed. is not good for all lammi horses. two horses have gone down with it at my daughter stables where she works, and there not over weight, and in full time work.. and never had any signs of lammi b4.. something needs to be done. so many horses are going down with it... ok soap box over hope all hoofs are well this morin .. lin how are you feeling this morin? better i hope. well off to bobs catch up in a bit.tracy xx

Looked at the pics of Bobs feet Wow what a difference, they where initially far far worse than Acorns and I thought his where bad enough but I know you had rotation where we didn't thank God. To get to where he is now is a testament to your dedication, willpower and not giving in - well done.
Glad Vicky is much better Debbie, God they are worry but you are a pro at this (I know you would rather not have any experience of it like the rest of us) and spotting the early signs and dealing are key. I do hope the LP is sucessful for her as it seems to be for Bobs and Acorn - will be interested in how you feel she is getting on, and yes I can understand the Muzzle.
