Had a practise session today for our test on Sunday and let's just say he was rather full of beans resulting in a couple of huge bucks and trying to take a hold in the canter work. He is normally cheeky but generally sensible to school but take him out of his comfort zone into a new environment he becomes tense and spooky so not exactly in the best frame of mind for dressage. Anyway i was in the local tackshop and saw the magic calmer so spoke to the woman behind the counter who said it would be ideal for my horse and is probably the most popular calmer they sell to dressage riders so I brought some. Have any of you tried it and if you did what was the results of using it? From what i've found via google some say it's a waste of time, others that it's the best thing since sliced bread but there was one person that said it was so effective on their horse that they had to withdraw from their competition as the horse was staggering and it had a strong sedative effect.
