Bo cost about £380 to be pts by the vet and taken for cremation, the hunt wasn't an option as he'd been given lots of drugs for his hock and colic. I think the disposal alone was £240.
I'm up north so not the same but our hunt kennel kindly used their incinerator to dispose of a horse I lost and I payed them. He was not suitable for the hounds but the money I payed helped with other things in the hunt. It's not the norm but is always worth an ask. I payed them £250 and they collected locally.
Mystique went to pet crematorium and cost £750 6 years ago be over £1000 now I should think.
Not allowed to bury here, I was happy to pay the kennels as it was used in other ways and it was kind of them as it's not something they offer.
Mystique gave me a lot and really helped me through a terrible time I couldn't bear not having her at home so pet crematorium was the only option and I'd pay double for her again but it certainly wasn't a cheap option. Though I have to say they were the most professional and respectful people I'd recommend to anyone. Our family have used them since for 2 dogs which was around the £300 Mark for our great dane.
It highlights though the cost of disposal and why alot of people couldn't afford it,this is where an abattoir to me is a much preferred option but the owners should do it themselves. Obviously in cases like Jessey and my horse at the hunt they can't be used due to medications.

We are still allowed to bury on our own land.
My parks are full of them.£230 here for the knackered man to come bolt and take away.
I couldn't deal with having a box full of my old horse sitting on the mantelpieceespecially not for £500
