I got them from hyperdrug equine pharmacy you can google them. You have to call up for them though as they only take order over the phone. I started my pony on 4 a day for 10 days then three and now I am on 2. I cannot believe the difference.

If you miss a day the itch comes back.
No sores yet but I am kicking myself for thinking i'd get away with not doing her the other day. She is particularly itchy at the poll this year and she's not too keen on me bathing with Dettol there.
I'll persevere.

My friends horse has suffered terribly from sweat itch for the last two years. Shes used camrosa, sudacrem, benzyl benzoate, fly sprays you name it we used it. Shes lived in rugs and mask allsorts. Until this year a vet recommended leave the area that is usually affected free from anything and using Coopers fly spray on the surrounding area. With amazment it worked! 
Frosty has not had any problems so far no sore anything! Its just over 20 pounds the spray but you only need a small amount every 2 to 3 days! Its fabulous id recommend to anyone!

Hi everyone we have brewers yeast powder on our website. (google nettex brewers yeast) It is the best quality pharmaceutical grade you can buy and is the same that is used in tablets. We feed every day of the year and give 25g for every 450k of horse. I think that it definitely works best for sweet Itch if fed all winter prior to the midge season. We also use Nettex Itch Stop.

I fully understand the fears behind sweet itch and to be totally honest if I had known that my mare had it I would have stayed well away. Thank god I didn't as she is cracking and it is controllable.
I have had her for 2yrs now and the 1st year was awful as I did not know she had it until she was sore, so it was a case of curing rather than preventing. I used Benzal to cure and I used 2 flysheets (Cuddly pony ones where great) and bingo we controlled it but she never grew her mane back.
However now it is totally sorted, I can not SHOUT the products load enough which have saved her a lot of discomfort:
ITCHGON LOTION by Gold Lable ~ This stuff is great and she loves having it put on, and it actually smells nice which is rare for these type of products.
SKIN SO SOFT by Avon (Yes I did say AVON!) ~ It is the best fly repellant ever I use it on all my horses even the ones who don't have SI. I tend to spray it on neat, not sure if you can dilute it. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF IT WORKS DILUTED???
BOETT RUG ~ Honest this one I have just started using but already she seems happier in the field.

still going well. must bathe tail every day but she is happy. I have her in a full neck fly sheet and head mask too. I even let her have the other day without the rug as it was really windy and raining, she had a nice roll and enjoyed the sunshine and showers.
We have a few rub marks around the poll area which she hates me putting dettol or cream on but this is so much better than the last few years.
I have also been wiping all the girly undercarraige which seems to help.

i know the best thing ever for everything!! its called stop-it-all! its brill for EVERYTHING...sweetitch mites mud fever and anything you can think of...just google it
My pony couldnt be turned out at night from the flies but now he can
its fab! It smells a bit off but it sure works!!
Can someone tell me, is the skin so soft by Avon the replenishing dry oil body spray??

Does anyone know where I can buy Benzyl Benzoate from?? It seems to have disappeared. I have rung manufacturers of the product and they all say it is no longer manufactured.
Avon Skin So Soft Fry Oil Body Spray - Soft and Fresh. However, Avon have recently changed their packaging and it is now in a white container. The one that is effective for horses is the green/original. The pink version doesnt seem to work.
The Avon product contains Benzyl Benzoate, but I need to find out where I can buy bottles of it.
Has anyone else struggled to get hold of the application?

Brewers yeast is very good lets say for spooky nervous horses my mare is on the powder from Holland and Barretts daily

Just a little thing incase you are still looking for other stuff to try.
I have been using Tesco own brand anti-dandruff shampoo with menthol on her tail - I have been throughly washing (as original purpose was to get scurfyness out), twice to three times a week. When she has been in she has no signs at all of having rubbed her tail, and actually really enjoys having a really good rub and massage of the dock. I decided to cut it down, and I went up yesterday morning, and lo and behold she had rubbed badly

I also comb through with a human comb (2 for 1.50 at asda), with really small teeth gaps to get the scurf out. I dont know if it is reduction in scurf, whether it is easing the itch or repelling the flies. I assume it has to be doing the latter as she has had no new bites up until I cut it down and examined her tail yesterday. She had rubbed to bleeding yesterday morning when I looked - it has made such a difference up until I cut it down, I was stupid thinking I was safe!

Cavalesse can be bought online, you don't have to get it from the vet! Loads cheaper also. I got it from www.petdispensary.co.uk, defo improvement for my girl, used it the last couple of months and will using it again next spring.

BB You can buy it from the chemists - as its used to treat scabies in humans its about a fiver for a 500ml bottle. You can also buy it online.

I've just bought a sweet itch rug and head cover with mesh and ears from cornerstone browbands on ebay. She makes them to measure and it's much cheaper than Boett. It's beautifully made with lining and fleecy bits for added protection and the hood is zip on.
