The Boys!

Busy weekend for us! Took the coloured beast out to some more dressage with his mate. They were both horrible as the test was in an indoor and they were ALONE. 🤣 This resulted in 61% for me and 58% for his mate and all of us being deaf with all the shouting! Oh well. There will be another day!

Then went off for the chance to ride a proper school master. Ended up riding flyjng changes (badly). Been a long time since ive riddem to that level and boy did it show!

It looked ok when we got our act together.

Then more D riding! He is wonderful with most things, but very impatient to tack up now. Gone from not wanting to do anything to i want to do it all now! He is having front shoes on today as was very sore hacking yesterday, but our ground is concrete so not super shocked.

And in not horse news Im picking up my new car today. 😁

More news...my pony now loads! This is a relief. Previous attempts have resulted in rearing all over the place.

The first pic is I believe mid flying change and late behind. 🤣 Least I was sat properly.

And I am so pleased with D. He was awful with some things when i sent him off. No is now not answer and has been replaced by curiosity.

Few more pics from the warm up!

So D comes home on Sunday. How exciting. Had a lesson with a new to me trainer last night who I will 100% go back to as I thought he was super and we sorted the right canter lead which has been quite challenging.

Riding him now he has got stronger is like going from a ford to a ferrari, there is a lot of power from that bottom!

First ride at home done and dusted. What a super star!

The boys were then horrible to him!

Proper hacking the new ears! He is a saint. I forgot it was the primary school disco night on our first proper venture out and it was insanity! The only small misshap we had was when his hacking companion bit him and we fell up a curb. Super, super boy.

Well, its been a while since I updates this and not much has been happening with the ponies, but Ive moved house!

D took an 'impact injury' to a tendon in his front leg a couple of days after our last post. No damage to the skin, and not unsound to trot up, but took a very odd step occasionally. First time i put it down to standing on a stone, 3rd time (over 3 rides) I called the vet. So a scan later and he is off for 12 weeks. Not ideal with a just back home not long backed bored 4 year old.

We are now back to walking and trotting and to be fair to him he has been pretty good. I nearly got someone out to get on him again (older and nerves), but Im glad I didnt. Screenshot_20251018_185813_Video Player.jpgScreenshot_20251017_195716_Gallery.jpg

The coloured beast and I have pretty much just been hacking about. Needs a clip, but i hate clipping and am putting it off.

This is how he looks most of the time when i go get him...20251020_161356.jpg

I hate the dark nights, but we do have a pretty sky at the yard.

It really wasnt. We were just getting going, had a pole clinic booked in, had my eye on low key dressage and was getting confident with riding him.

Its the confidence setback I am most annoyed about but its coming back. I rode him with a fire raging next to the school today and he was good as gold.

Luckily zero lasting damage. His last scan showed nothing at all and he can crack on as if it never happened.

Also means I am riding him this time of year when he was going to have a holiday. Drat. :D

What they are attached to a face as cite as this it rather makes up for all the difficult bits!

Another new thing today...the photo below explains why! How annoying. :(

So i got someone else to ride him for me. He was good as gold and tried really hard to understand her and do what waa asked for. He is such a nice horse under saddle and the rest of his manners are improved 100 fold.
