The stupid hunt ....

The natural instinct of a fox is to kill what he can when the opportunity arises. The fox would have returned to collect all the carcasses if given the chance. He would then have stored them for leaner times when food was more scarce.
.

I am sorry, next time il leave all the carcasses for Charley to take at a later date!

poppy the difference is that the fox is sneeky and will have an aim of killing your animal, the hunt were having harmless fun and had no aim to upset the horse. The two are not comprable

Of course they are. And reading a lot of posts on here some hunts do go out to and manage to upset people and horses. A fox is an animal and behaves in such a way to survive.

Exactly by your own statement they are completly different, I am yet to see a hunt slaughter for survival

I said that if the horse owner is to be responsible for their horse from outside influences, why should the chicken/lamb owners not be responsible for their animals?

The hunt can be prepared against through good communication and organization.

I have not seen a fox give us a yearly schedule of the hen houses they are going to hit!:D

As I say totally impossible to compare them and trying to justify an argument like that is clutching at straws

NO,NO,NO You have got it soooo wrong!
Right,Hunts cannot afford to go out to annoy and upset people. What most folk dont understand is that most hunts in the uk employ staff, most of these staff have grown up in Hunt Service,it goes back for generations in the familys.Befor the ban the Hunt had a very important job to do,this job was mainly for the benefit of farmers and landowners.Im sure these hunts that other posts are talking about dont "go out to upset "people.

imo most people are totally unaware of the services the hunt actually offer, not forgetting the history of the hounds, some of there lines go back 100s of years, that a lone has to be preserved

Do you have any suggestions on how to keep poultry and livestock safe?
If you have any you owt to publish them as this killing by foxes has been going on for hundreds of years.

Think this will be closed shortly.......... but i do agree with hedgehunter, foxes DON`T kill to survive, having had chickens (as part of the family:o)- not nice to see them littered around the garden, in a sorry state, very upsetting for all...........as i mentioned earlier `if it ain`t broke, don`t try and fix it`.......... (Mr Blair...runs away and hides yet again:o:o)

i agree shandy, it comes down to sheer ignorance, people have always seen hunting as a blood sport with little thought to the lively hoods of the staff, or the services offered,

its the same with the toff label many of us get, LOL me a toff? i think not, rich? nope, pompus? far from it, i just love being out in the country side, and although its a bit like a mass fun ride, its not, no fun ride has ever taught me to grip like my first days hunting!

I agree, fox killed all 11 of the chickens at our yard, and left every single one littered in bits around the yard. Didn't take a single one. Yeah, that sure is killing for survival.

What a shame the only thing Blair did actually try and 'fix' didn't need fixing in the first place!

*Puts armour on and crouches behind sofa, barricaded in with cushions.* :o

*Throws skips another couple of cushions, you're probably going to need them* ;)

*gives s & s a shield* LOL i think your safe to be honest, your actually doing is making people aware of what really goes on, to many people think mr fox is the victim.

Cheers JD! *Assumes warrior stance whilst crouched under cushions, then gets leg cramp* :p

I think I stopped feeling an ounce of pity for Mr Fox right about when I stepped over a chicken head on the way to my stable (yes, gross, I know, that's what Mr Fox does, guys)!

Every discussion, talk and debate I tend to do at school is about hunting. :o It's about the only thing I can get into a proper serious debate about and do a proper talk about. Reckon my teachers are sick of hearing about it! :p
