At this time of year its very rare I don't have a million yard chores to catch up on at the weekend, but I somehow managed it this weekend. We had a very pingy (Jess) and chilly ride Saturday so I knew Jess would be more settled yesterday, 2nd ride in 2 days and it was about 10c warmer :) So with no time pressure we pootled off to the 'bulls eye' as we haven't been up there in forever.

We set off in lovely sunshine

This is a couple of miles from home, we've come through the forest, a little village, over the river and a level crossing before getting back into the forest

These are scary horse eating arrows that some unruly person put out there just to torment Jess :D

Here we are at the bulls eye, I call it that because on a map it is a circle of clear fell with a + of paths through it, and we'll have a nice canter down this one me thinks :p

Same path from the bottom,

and without moving the next 4 pictures are our options to carry on

You are so lucky with your hacking, it always looks fab!
Glad she was less pingy and that you had a lovely ride instead of chores to do.

Someone had built a bivvy

Hmm, another canter, don't mind if we do :p

And another

Join us for a canter?..... I was videoing with one hand and trying to contain her with the other, hence I'm jabbering at her :p

And homeward bound :)

Bless her, bit sweaty round her face :) We were out maybe 2.5 or 3 hours, I'm not really sure as wasn't clock watching :)

What absolutely fab hacking you have, I'm so jealous :) I have to go on a PR to get hacking like that ... which is why I swear Raf has learned to stop for the arrows, because he's worked out it the association with a change of direction :p

Jess ignores them until they are virtually under her feet then feigns fear by a full one side of the track to the other spook, before continuing like nothing every happened!

Oh that canter looked lovely! She is a good girl, I think Ziggy would be very hard to pull up on such a flat inviting track
Haha that's a hill for around here! We had done quite a bit of faster work by then and I'd doubled back away from home so she was a little less enthusiastic than 5 minutes before :D
