The new rider mommies thread

How are all the New Mummies getting on then? We are now over 3 weeks and things are setting down again - which is nice. I'm enjoying my walk/hacks with the pony and the dogs are enjoying getting to go for bigger walks than the two minute shuffle they were on 4 weeks ago!

Big Brother has been really good with the new arrival....he talks away to her and shows her what he is up to....long may that continue!

had my 4d baby scan

SB1 - looks like you're really contented at the moment, very pleased for you:) I can't wait until i;m back in the saddle myself after bump

I had my 4D baby scan yesterday and now have a short DVD and 4D pics:)

oh and we found out that we're expecting a BOY. Our hospital has a policy of not saying what the gender is so we wanted to find out at our private scan. Everything is looking well, although he looks a lot fuller in size then the 4D scan of our last baby (girl) at the same gestation.

so this will make our final count of children to be 3 boys, 2 girl's:)

Your scans are amazing! We thought about it, but didn't do it for No.1 so just had the detailed anatomy one at 20 weeks. Em looked like her brother on that scan too! It really brings it home that there is a small person in there when you see them on the screen. We are back to our birthweight now and it is hard to believe that something of that size was wriggling about crushing all my organs 4 weeks ago....no idea how she fitted in there!! I'm left with a really nice squishy stomach, but I can tuck it back into trousers now so that is something!!!! Not made it into joffers yet......but will try soon!

Are your other children excited about their soon to be new brother?? I am pleased with how our big brother is with his sister....he is a bit of a terror when tired, but so far has always been very good to her, lots of kisses and rubs her feet when she crys!

Sun went out to grass last night - typical, got up this morning and can't see more than a metre! But that should really help her leg loosen off. We are really enjoying getting out for a quick walk about the place, she is very forward and I am going to keep her in the gag a little longer!

Must head out...bought the wrong nappies...down to the last one and someone is making faces and squirty noises!

i didn't have the 4d scans for my first three children as you couldn't get them then but i had it done for babies no 4 and this one (no 5) mainly because my pregnancy condition puts me at a large risk of stillbirth in later pregnancy so wanted to make sure i;d have a glimpse of baby even if everything all goes wrong.

The squishy stomach doesn't last forever;) although i always found it funny tucking it into my jeans:o

wow your baby has done really well getting back to birthweight already:) my first two were biggish babies but my last two really struggled to regain their weight to birth weight, my youngest took 5 months to get to hers (but she did drop a awful lot of weight due to my condition)

My other children are quite looking forward to having another brother now although they were not too impressed at first. my eldest is 9 in a week or two and she rather embarrasingly asked me if "daddy and you know how babies are made?, and how to stop having them!" it's bad when your kids start telling you that:eek: my youngest daughter is probably looking forwards to having a baby to help/play with the most though (she's 21 months)

Lacey probably won't be ridden now until after i have this baby so have mixed emotions at the moment as to what it will be like when i get back on board as we will have both had a bit of time off. (spooky pony having had time off + unfit new mum = possible disaster:rolleyes::))

can you add me on pls? Emily 7.04.08 (7weeks today)

Update:
I am riding two or three times a week, was back on board after a week and a bit. I dont have enough energy to keep mollie going in the arena for long which causes me to have a horrible leg position, hacking out is easier as she is forward going - been out on our own a few times. SUCH FUN!!!! Started to canter a bit better. Its going to take time. Mollie is being sold at the end of june, i was going to buy her but I wont get the riding time I would want against the cost. Looking for something else in the mean time.

ooooh add me!!! to babies list! (well bigger babies!)

Aisha - 28/06/99 - 7lb 10oz
Amina - 22/12/01 - 8lb 15oz
Sulayman - 10/11/07 - 8lb 10oz

baby doing well!! Im doing ok but still not ride yet..think its partly due to the fact that the last horse I rode was Buttons last feb..then didnt ride all through pregnancy..now I feel weird getting back into it on another one:confused:

However Ive started a make-up & perfume business!! so thats kept me busy -
think we could all do with treating ourselves :D

I like the treating ourselves bit, well I have 5 weeks left and am desperate to get back in the saddle.
I feel so envious when I see people hacking out but not long now and it has given me time to get the kids and their ponies going:)

Hello hello....
............Glad to hear everyone is okay. I've been back in hospital with the same infection...deep joy...been out for a week now so we shall see if they have cleared things up this time. Must mention things to my Dr in my 6 week check....

Things going well at home with small baby and toddler. She is starting to take more of an interest in all around which is nice to see again.

J and I had the pony at the vet school yesterday to investigate the wonky leg as turning her out and taking for walks has not resolved things as I had hoped. We got good new and not so good. There has been a lot of deterioration in the joint since the last x-rays in 2005, but they are going to medicate it for me and are very hopeful that this will make a big difference to her. So we go back on Thursday...another little trip out for her! She was so happy to have a change of scene...not been in the trailer for over 3 months!

Best go, all of yesterdays housework to do :D

You say that....but I just seem to have added to what was there from last time!!

aaah yes but bodies are like horses...odd things that don't always make sense;)

my 1st i put on 3 stone and squishy stomach stayed one size bigger then normal until i had my second nearly three years later where i put on another 3.5 stone. Then within 8 months all squishy stomach from 1 and 2 dissapeared:confused:

Then number 3 meant weight gain of 2.5 stone and again squishy stomach that stayed until after no 4 was born (14 months later) then all but went again although stayed a little heavier.

this time........still pregnant but only put on 2st. hoping it will all go this time too:D

I was alsways told rising trot is good to get your stomach muscles back a bit as well.:)
