December Chit Chat

I am in SO much trouble with mr man. I have been fighting a cold for a week. Yesterday I had a temperature and felt terrible. In bed by 7.30 and slept for 12 hours. This morning I could hear the rain clattering. Looked at yard chat and everyone staying in. So I didn’t get to the yard till 9.30 thinking I would leave him in. He was furious and complained loudly that he must go out and I was late. The only other horse out was his buddy. So I said fine, out you go. He couldn’t even wait for his sweeties and he was off.

An hour later when his buddy came in again he decided he needed in too. He is funny. He needs to find out for himself what the weather is like (even tho he could just look out the window). He is then perfectly happy to come back in. I am not allowed to make that decision for him 😂

I was all set to have a play around with Mr Zi, came back from collecting our meat order in the village and it's gone awful wet and raw out there. I don't know if I'll bother now. It really isn't conducive to it, even if we potter about the yard. I think I might just do some carrot (ginger biscuit) stretches with him instead.

Was dreadful here too this morning. I got my second complete soaking of the week. Had no choice i just had to brave it and do all the animals. Its been nice this afternoon but ive been rushing round from pillar to post so been slightly oblivious to blue skies.
I wish this bug would do one too. Got to work and was promtly sick. What the heck was that all about. Now have a sore throat and have felt like ive got a swelling or lump in it.

Tomorrow is supposed to be horrendous all day. I foresee another soaking feeding the menagerie first thing. Oh well i can then hide in the office, so much paperwork to catch up on.

Sunday will be all change, moving all the sheep, cows and horses around. Hopefully it will mean less work for a couple of months although the way things have been going animal wise im not sure. The routine ive been doing though is just not sustainable.

I thought about you when I watched the weather forecast earlier, it said your in for some nasty weather…. I’m sure your big lad will love his carrot (ginger biscuit) stretches though.

I got to the yard this afternoon to be met with a slightly clean and very mellow Belle, so I decided to go out for a little pootle, considering it’s about four weeks since we actually hacked and she was a proper madam, she as as good as gold and we had a lovely time. I know I say it often but I do adore my old girl so very much.

People are missing hospital appointments, though with todays tech it could be emailed or text as a back up.
My vet will text to tell me her teeth her due for example.
I knew I should have a hospital appointment and hadn’t heard so I phoned them, it hadn’t got lost in the post, they just hadn’t booked it, good job I phoned to chase it up as now I’m a month behind where I should have been, if I hadn’t phoned I probably wouldn’t have heard a thing!
Interestingly I have received a letter to confirm but it says appointments may be cancelled if your consultant is redeployed to deal with Covid 19 patients 😱 I thought Covid wasn’t a thing anymore 🙄

Crikey chunky monkey it sounds like you seriously need a break, sending lots and lots of healing vibes your way.

It's the flu that seems worse this year. However with all the strikes, it is possible that they will start canceling what they consider is non urgent?

Judging by the news this morning I’m going to guess they already are cancelling non urgent appointments.
Don’t go to A&E unless it’s a medical emergency, don’t call 999 unless it’s a medical emergency, don’t do anything that might put you at risk of injury……
I always thought A&E and 999 were for medical emergencies anyway and now I’m assuming they don’t want you driving seeing that doing so may put you at risk of injury, actually I could get run over crossing the road, so perhaps I’d better not walk anywhere either… bloody ridiculous and our stupid self serving government need to get themselves sorted and do something good for this country instead of themselves for a change.

999 is for emergencies, but from answering 999 all day long I can tell you an awful lot of people have warped ideas of what constitutes an emergency! I am not saying that’s you at all, just that I understand why they need to say it. Just do what you know is right.
I haven't ever called 999 and have only been to A&E when 111 told me to get there pronto! So I can't imagine why anyone would waste their time with trivial stuff but yes, I do imagine some folk might consider a minor ailment as an emergency. :(

I only have the documentaries to go on, but people do appear to ring for the most stupid things.
Saying that, if it's triaged, they shouldn't be sent an ambulance straight away?
There are those who call the doctor for trivial things as well.
And one police officer was heard saying "some people have the police on speed dial, instead of resolving their own problems"
