laminitis now abscess 2

That sounds similar to my useage. Not overdoing it but its more than the vet advised. She also gets a handful of Hi Fi Lite morning and night with her anti inflammatory in it

how is she on the hi fi lite? bobs is on that, but try and putting a bit on speedi beet with it because it may be to dry for her.. and the speedi beet is fine just a small amount,

Or even just fibre beet.

Im looking at changing to lucie stalks due to allergies, but also ok for lammis - no straw and straw can have higher "bad" sugars than hay.

its only a handful to disguise the anti inflamm powders. My horse gets this as a token bucket with his hoof supp.
she eats and drinks really well.
is beet ok? I thought that would be bad?

ony speedi beet the 10min soak one. it has the lammi sign on it. low in suger

Due to it being a cattle court and not a proper stable I have to have some straw just to put on the floor and then the shavings on top as there are huge gaps underneath the doors. Proper stables should be getting done before winter.

Thanks for that. learned something else new.
Might get some of that as the hi fi is awfully dry but the horses wolf it down no bother.

its nice with a bit of speedi beet in. it gives them somethink extra. without suger in. and fresh mint from garden is somethink else you could put in. they get so bored

having spent weekend researching simple systems feeds which were recommended by trimmer - I found a lot of stuff madam could benefit from...

1) Total Eclipse - balancer, with linseed meal for skin, brewers yeast for skin and seaweed
2) Lunar Eclipse - linseed and brewers yeast with magnesium in for mooday mares etc
3) metaslim - does what it says on tin.

I emailed them and asked their advice and theyve suggested lucie stalks (as the mixer - its alfa alfa, but unmollassed (lower sugar) and less likely to be an allergen than most other feed mixers - also as its pure lucerne there are no other "bits and bobs" in it), with linseed meal - I thought I was going to be given a hundred and one things - when I queried why, it was because she would be better on a simpler diet to work out what causes an allergic reaction - so quite impressed with that as they could have easily rinsed me!!!!!! (moody mare, with lami/weight issues and bad allergies)

Sorry that was off topic... but they also do a sugar free bucket of treats, which I might invest in - my two love carrots, and they only have thin slices when training, but it can still be rather a lot by the end of bribery time!

thats what i use to do with bobs give carrots as treat when training, and as you said by the end, it mounted up on how much he ended up eating  and what he tricked me out off :)

I had switched to "pressure and release" method, but she is such a foodie, that sometimes when she tries hard I like to say thanks - recently just been giving a handful of hifi good dooer at the end of a good session, but she's gone off it

There is though - more than hifi lite - she wouldnt eat that AT ALL!!!!

My biggest concern with the lucie stalks is they are too bland so she wont touch them. Will get the mint thing they do too probably to make it smell nice at least!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called the vet to confirm his conversation with my OH when i got home from work.
The vet moaned about her weight, moaned there was too many droppings in her stable and she was obviously being fed too much (I counted 4 when I skipped her out and that was all day), said he wanted her turned out with a muzzle to get her moving and get weight off her.
I turned her out for 2 hours and there is next to no grazing due to the sheep and cows anyway.
I asked him if she should be on a supplement of any sort and he said it was for the owners to decide, I pointed out he was the vet and didnt he advise on such things and he said he only did what the client wanted. I am not happy and will concede to turning her out for small periods but when the owners come back I am having nothing to do with the whole matter as I can see that poor pony being stabled long term before the summer is out.
I got the weight tape on her last night ans although I am not entirely sure of her size approx 13.1hh or thereabouts. I'm 5'6" and feel not too monstrous on her and she is an Exmoor X. Her girth was 161cm/318kg/701lb
I thought that was not too bad.
