Good bad and frightening news update..

Fantastic end to Chucka's first season with a double clear in time over a big BE100 course at Broadway ( used as Regional Final )

Kirkum had an ongoing colic episode and we took him to vet hospital last week. Now home to convalesce on massive doses of steroids (105 pills a day). no diagosis but possible tumour or liver failure. Doing well so far (everything crossed)

New arrival tomorrow. raced recently and bought by novice mum to hack out. Unfortunately she didn't realise that horse would need retraining. We will have her in for assessment and resale after restarting.

OMG poor Kirkum! Healing vibes for him.

Errrr..... all I can say is that she was lucky to find you before something or someone got broken!

Well done Chukka - he's a superstar! Hope Kirkum continues to do well...lots of healing vibes for him. Good luck with the newbie...you definitely keep busy!

A quick update, if on Facebook there is a new page @LIttle Brown Horses LBH retrained racehorses. For others I will carry on my updates!

Kirkum seems be making a good recovery and is now on only 50 tablets a day!! Fiddley is back in gentle work and staying sound. Chukka has had a brief end of season holiday and will now work on his not too good dressage so he can move up to BE105 and Novice next season. In the meanime he is entered for some BE JAS which are arena SJ and XC judged on style during January/February.

The two newbies are a total contrast to each other ! Neddi ( Naledi) is a worrier a bit like Fiddley only more extreme however he moves a like dream and is slowly starting to trust`us enough to jump grids and do a basic dressage test. Mo ( Moment to Dream) is a laid back dream obviousy no retraining but easy to do in all ways.We already have sensible interest in her and will start taking her out to events next week. We may keep her until spring and produce her to event but equally if the perfect person comes along rehome her as was our origional intention

Gang joined today by another bay ex racer. Suffice to say his condition is too bad for us to show photos. Nothing to do with his life in racing ,everything to do with six months in the hands of novice owner and awful diy yard where no one questioned why his rug was never taken off/stable used. Tonight he is tucked up in a stable with a borrowed rug that will not press on his bony body, on his third haynet and had a small feed with the beginning of a soft worming programme. Will start him in our isolation paddock for a couple of short spells tomorrow. He has already turned from threatening grump into cuddly softy. Pictures when he looks better.

I saw this on Fb and thought how very lucky he was that Emma has taken him under her wing. I can't wait to see the 'after' pics and reports :)

:(Dear God:mad: Please keep us posted and thank goodness you're there for him xxx

New horse has been very well loved by his racing contacts, was retrained and sold not cheaply as a potential eventer to a lady in 2016. However six months ago he ended up with a novice owner who had him vetted on purchase and some how has ended up in condition score 1.5 max. Yesterday he consumed four large haynets and drank abut 20 buckets of water. have started him on Panacur 5 day and today deloused him of the 'moving dandruff' Vet out on wednesday to do basic heath check. ( and lots of vaccinations)

Beyond mad and bewildered

Time to admit we are ex racehorse addicts!!

Seven stabled tonight and two out with remaining retired RS ponies.

We are lucky to have lots of well sheltered grazing, stables and barns to allow every one to live as they want, either in or out, with or without rugs.

Our latest prodigy Charlie (AKA Coursey Rover) is now well enough to join the gang and is proving to be a lovely person ..open page on FB ' little brown horse: lbh retrained racehorses'
