So everyone is now moved! The herd has a room with a view and are being reasonably good!
D is happily settled in his new yard and has been pretty good! Due to lack of friends now we did solo hacking with a foot soldier and he was brilliant!
More hacking the brown one today and a different route. Spoilt here. My old yard had a 60mph road you had to ride out onto. Never realised how it must have worried me till I dont have to anymore. Coloured boy was a superstar hack, but clearly I wasnt that relaxed as D should be worse from his new one and isnt. Must be me!
Hacking from the herd yard last night and its also beautiful. After work so chasing the light a bit and only out for just over an hour, but so much exploring to do with so little road work. The horses were knackered. Lot of hills here!
And D got to go out with his new herd so he had the day off to settle. I think he is happy to have some friends and some grass again! I went to check him late last night and he was happy as larry.
More hacking today. Just a very quick road block, but 3 sides of it he hasnt done before and the weather wasnt great.
He was fabulous. Relaxed a lot earlier and seemed very happy to be out and about. Gota foot soldier, but only needed a tiny bit of encouragement today. One day I think he will.be fabulous solo, but slow and steady wins the race.
More weekend riding. This time pics from the herd yard, its stunning. The hills are going to make these horses fit as a fiddle, but having to be a bit careful for now!
Found some canter spots in the woods though, great time had by all!
A little late but had a lesson with D on Sunday. This school is smaller than the previous yard so struging with balance a bit since he is still young and quite weak, but was a good lesson a a few take aways from it...namely slow it all down a bit!
We have been busy. Im trying to ignore clock fhange and getting on with it.
Had a group pole clinic with D. He was really good with other horses and whilst he was quite distracted at the beginning settled down and was lovely!
He also had his pro out to jump him, was fab in the dark under the flood lights given it has been a little while since he has done actual proper jumping.
Had one blip hacking one way out of the yard, he took great offence to a fence of all things and i had to get off. We have been walking up there inhand since and manages to ride past at the weekend. Genuine worry though, look at his face the 1st time we went up inhand!
And enjoying the hacking at the other yard! This was a cold morning, but so pretty.
