The old NR - what a difference!!

Blimey Roxy's Mum you ain't half set the cat amongst the pigeons with this topic! lol My eyes started to hurt after the 2nd page :D

I know, it wasn't quite my intention that it would stir up so many feelings! But in a way I'm glad it has as it only takes one person to speak out before others decide to join in too as they feel the same!

Sorry nothing constructive to say :p

Now THAT I don't believe! Come on Innocence, it's not like you to have nothing to say! :p

your argument is flawed

"Fraid that would've been me on a particular thread that you and I were both involved in, Roxy. (Although I didn't use it on your argument ;) ) It isn't intended to be rude, but to point out that there is some sort of glaring inconsistency in an argument that makes it impossible to carry on debating until the flaw is corrected. I think, on the other thread, I was essentially trying to get the other poster to stop calling apples limes and then arguing that he hadn't done. At any rate, I think such assertions are best saved for threads that are geared toward friendly debate... the death penalty thread comes to mind. I probably wouldn't go so far as to say that someone's argument is flawed on a thread about hoofcare. :D

Is it wrong that I miss the 'old' NR? I found it very entertaining and just avoided unpleasant threads that got heated and downright rude. It is nice here now, I'm not complaining, but I do find it super quiet and it no longer keeps me occupied for hours.

I think it's healthy to be several forums so I can swap around-attention span of a gnat! If I don't like something, I rarely post back unless it's really offensive or downright wrong.

I don't see the point of being smacked down when I choose to spend some of my free time on a forum so I agree that NR is a good place to be.

I just looked on Horse and Hound, if you want to see some mad threads just go and look, you dont have to be a member.
Some one has started a thread on overweight riders and the things they are saying to each other is unreal!!!

There you go! If you want entertainment and a bit of bitching is your thing, go to HHO! (Now I know what it is) :p

I've never noticed people being over nicey here... this is after all NEW Rider and plenty of people on here are just starting out and learning. There's some very experienced people on here to learn from if that is what you're looking for and I have found people to be honest here without getting on their "high-horse"!

The last thing they want is someone hounding them down about the wrong stirrup length or bad equine purchase. What is the point exactly? However, I know it's an online community and if you feel offended then just leave or ignore it but it's not, is it? It gets emotional and people take things to heart.

So, I think, if you want mature advice and discussion (niceyness!), come to NR, if you need a dose of excitement, subscribe somewhere more entertaining.

(NB: not that I find NR UN-entertaining btw :D)

I don't actually recall you saying that but I remember the other said poster saying it to me I was like grrr  But I rose above it - didn't want to reduce the thread to the likes of HHO!

(PS Loving the fact people call me Roxy on here!!! :p)

OOh I'm of for a nose at that:D

I JUST DID THAT!!!!

I just spent the last 10 mins or so reading through thinking blimey, what a load of uneducated b!itches!!!

I really wanted to put my weight and height on there with a description of Roxy but decided that doing that just for pure entertainment isn't really my style. I know I would be called all sorts and told that I'm being cruel.

And believe me, I'm paranoid about riding Roxy as I am quite heavy so we only do walking work at the moment & RI is insistant that I am NOT too heavy for her.

As an aside, I am now known in real life as Skippy;). I have made a whole new circle of friends thanks to here and we seem to think of one another by our forum names - mine has stuck totally:D.

44 years old and I've finally got a nickname:D:D

Now THAT is what you call a b!tchy forum in my opinion?

Now you started something. I haven't been on there for ages and because of you I did :p

Got involved in an argument on FE management.

But actually it proves my point on this thread. I was a complete bitch and the OP actually thanked me :D:D

Some people prefer that approach, it just seems when i am honest with people i usually get an 'extreme' reaction, I have never been thanked!:(

LOL sorry Roxy's Mum... I never thought about that. I take it we've been calling you by your horse's name, then? :p

I checked out the thread on H&H, too. Good. Ness. Some people need to get out more.

Never looked on HHO forum because i hate being a newbie as they normally get jumped on.

Did try the 'other' forum and still occasionally look but never post as not my thing. They seem too close nit and if you don't fit in then sod you!

I have had my ups and downs on this forum too but doesn't everyone :confused:

There that is my comments for the day :D

You dont have to be a member to look on H&H, anyone can read it, you only have to join if you want to post so you will not even be viewed if you are just reading, you will show up as a 'Guest'.

I am not a member but i often read threads.

Hahaha, no problems - I certainly don't mind, it's nice having a bit of an alter ego!

The people on H&H scare me!!!
