oh dear, comparing horses to men is always going to end in tears.
The horses will always win, hands down!

As long as hunts work within the law, I see no reason for it to be stopped.pmsl. ok ok sorry were way off topic... back to hunting... should the breeding of hounds now be stopped?
Playing Devil's Advocate here... If foxes are so horrid and evil, have so much impact on farmer/smallholder livelihoods, cause untold suffering to domestic livestock, don't seem to make any difference to the numbers of rabbits, carry diseases, end up having rather unpleasant lives because they get mangey etc., and are utterly verminous - why don't we embark on a full-scale fox eradication programme? What possible downsides could there be to that?
It's clear that nobody pro hunting in their right mind would favour this, because it's all about entertainment and nothing to do with pest control or conservation.
Just because someone gives their honest opinion and it doesn't fit in with your trail of thoughts, doesn't neccesarily mean they got up on the wrong side of the bed.Oh,here we go again, and its only 12.10!
All im gonna say is lots of folk must have get up on the wrong side of the bed today.

If you look at the body weight of a fox---lean and sleek, then look at the body weight of a foxhound--stocky.Therefore any fox that cannot outrun a hound must have had problems health wise anyway which brings me to the kill---When a fox is killed by a pack of hounds the weight of the hounds running into mr fox usually knocks him out anyway-then a nip on the back of the neck finishes him off within seconds!--non of this shredding lark! It's not the actual killing of the fox that I object to - when they are that exhausted and terrified it probably comes as a welcome relief - it's the actual chase beforehand which I find so intolerable and cruel.
C'mon, can't you do any better than that?![]()

Survival of the fittest.
No i carnt....

In my opinion a fox is more likly to be killed quicker than shooting as there is a chance that you dont shoot it in the right place and so it suffers.
Survival of the fittest.Have you ever seen a fox dieing of mange/...not nice!
Maybe i should get rid of ALL of my animals/pets if i would do anything to see them suffer? That is not always the case, last night at the yard i was speaking to some people who have been on a hunt, they know im anti but we managed a gentle talk on it, and one girl told me that she wont go again as the last one they actually dug the fox out of there den after being chased miles and then the fox got ripped apart!!! so its not the survival of the fittest at all, its a blood sport and hunters will do anything to see the fox or animal suffer!
I agree foxes are faster, but they don’t have the stamina of a foxhound. This means that although the fox can initially outrun the hounds, it always becomes exhausted much sooner. If you look at the body weight of a fox---lean and sleek, then look at the body weight of a foxhound--stocky.Therefore any fox that cannot outrun a hound must have had problems health wise !
Not true in every case!!!!!anyway which brings me to the kill---When a fox is killed by a pack of hounds the weight of the hounds running into mr fox usually knocks him out anyway-then a nip on the back of the neck finishes him off within seconds!--non of this shredding lark!

There's scientific proof that hounds DO NOT kill every fox by a quick "nip" to the back of the neck...some foxes DO suffer an agonising death.
I’m surprised you didn’t know hounds where bred for their stamina.
.
Oh, well that makes it all ok then, can I lop off the legs of a few foxhunters then? You won't feel a thing lol....![]()
I'd be interested to read about that zizz, can you post a link to this evidence? But there is also scientific eveidence that the adrenalin from being chased acts as a very strong pain killer.
