Gosh @Huggy there must be something in the air, Sid was a little toad earlier today and bucked off my potential new sharer. Where do these things come from? What do they mean?

Hogan!!!! Oh dear......hope it's back in place soon.Well, Hogan's halo didn't just slip - it flew off to parts unknown for half an hour. First, it was horrible and wet first thing, so I decided to take him out later - one confused cob when I brought him in to get ready. Set off out as normal, no problems at all. Halfway round the demon emerged, for no reason whatsoever. It's not high spirits, it's not pain (at least not that I can tell), it just comes out of nowhere. Worst one for a while. Head throwing, attempted rears, massive bucks. Then jogging all the way home, with the head throwing continuing. Got back to the yard and totally normal. WTH?. Two positives - I stayed on and by god he got his exercise! Little toad.

Thank you!! We had so much funThat's a great picture @GaryB ! What a dude Harvey is.
What has got into them this week?! Sid, Hogan and now Ella! There's something in the ether! At the other end of the equestrian scale, I lumbered out this morning and hacked Ella. I had hoped to be taken out like a child, but that wasnt to be.
It dawned on me that our summer rides (off track) offer almost no shade. So I crossed the road and puzzled her by setting off in our winter direction under the trees. No canter as I wanted to keep her in the shade as much as I could.
None the less, she napped (the ungrateful beast) and I had to give way 50%. Instead of heading straight on away from home, or turning back which was her idea, I agreed a compromised and we turned right. But I had to use my whip and talk to her sternly. I was nervous she might make a run for home. My fallng off last January has left a mark,
I forgive her and forgive myself as we had guests at the weekend and I ate too much and have put on weight. My idea this week is to thin myself down so I am more athletic. The GP told me the weight he wanted me to be and that is my goal. My goal next week is also to have some canters.
Shiny boy!Just had a play with Sonny the humidity is much lower and it doesn't feel bad out even with sun.
It is very VERY windy though.
We got some rain and storms last nite But not nearly as bad some places....New Hampshire had a tornado but thankfully wasn't on the ground long and didn't do any damage.
I dragged the little arena right after morning feeding etc.
It's been soooo dry and dusty.

For us in London, it is the sudden heat. We are only half way through May and it is as hot as it usually is in June. I am in a cotton M&S dress and sandals. Ella has a saddle clip but my experience of her napping is that she only does it when she is seriously too hot. She was in a fur coat. What has got into them this week?! Sid, Hogan and now Ella! There's something in the ether!
